New Era in GREECE

The last half of 2005 till the early weeks of 2006, things in Greece has start to moving fast and up! Lots of events with many international guests from psytrance to progressive even to ambient and chill out. New Greek labels, new upcoming artists, more releases and a storming expansion of our scene to abroad. The new era for Greek trance has started…..you will stay out?

In TTG 2005 we have mention few things about how the scene in Greece has grow up through years, in this article we will stay in present and future as this belong to us and we must create as better we can! As we pre-mentioned we had lot of events lately, some of our active events promoters which offer us great events are Eternal Motion, Free Frequency, Plasmatica Group in Thessalonica, plus Natural High, Moonsun & Space Frequency in Athens.

Regarding our local label’s activities, new labels have appeared as Timewarp Music and the worldwide expansion of our known labels as Acidance, Candyflip, Cosmicleaf, Exposure, Harmonia & Unicorn, to name few, still continues with wicked releases and even better forthcoming.

Our local artists, new and old respected ones, all together forward the trance culture of Greece as Elastik, Ion, Igneous, Mendark, Opsis, Omegahertz, Percussion Bullet, Radical Distortion, Sunhize and the masters Wizzy Noise to name few. Of course keep an eye upon our chill out artists as Cydelix, D.Batistatos, IΧΩΡ, MLT, Side Liner, Spyweirdos, Timewarp to name few.

If you visit our wonderful country, you will be able to find your favorite records and get the latest information about our local events in shops like Fabric (Navarhou Votsi 5, Serres), It Recordshop (15 Massalias str. Athens), Radical Soundz (Agiou Ioanni 18-20,Agia Paraskevi) & Lotus (7 Skra str , Thessalonica) to name few .

What about radiostations? Do you want to find some nice radio shows around the Greece to listen your favorite sounds? Let’s mention some Greek radio shows. For chill out fans we have the Nova Natura radio show which broadcasts in 6 radio stations around Greece and is the biggest chill out network so far which supported also and from the nr1 Greek’s music technology magazine Soundmaker, for psytrance & progressive lovers Universal Vibes in Athens & High Frontier in Serres.

What about Magazines? For our scene we have only one, the well known and respected Freeze magazine. Freeze is coming out almost every 2 months with many interviews, articles, reviews, events from the local and international scene with promotional cds from labels as free gift with the magazine.

Ending, I am sure that you are waiting to listen for any forthcoming summer festival, but unfortunately once more (as 2005), nothing has confirmed till this lines last. We hope to see any, as 2005 with Samothraki which confirmed some months before starts. My wish and expectation is our local promoters to cooperate together for set up a good organized festival much earlier and support more of our local artists, djs & labels this time. Greece is driving crazy in the road of worldwide trance. Trance means unity and not division , so lets make a step further for our scene!
